  1. I am a little late on this payment. I mailed my payment on 1/21/21. Capital one never received it. I had to call my bank and make a stop payment on check. It cost me 35.00 for stop payment. I always make larger amounts on my monthly payments..I had sent in the check for 600.00 I hope it is not sitting on someone’s desk. I hope this does not ruin my credit. I am sending out another check now. I am not happy. Maybe it is the mail man.

    • That’s really bad. I usually have my credit cards tied to my checking account, also with an automated payment set up. Right now I have a capital one card and a chase credit card, both of which are paid by my chase checking account. I’m so scared of missing payments that I usually log in every few days and pay the balance right then, even if the automated payment is set and working. I would never send a check in the mail, just because it could be lost, late or anything like the situation you currently face. Maybe try to set everything up online (with automated payments), this way you’ll never have any more headaches.
